THE FOUNDER
Edward von der Schmidt started Datum Research in 2023. A Princeton University graduate with a concentration in Economics, he brings a decade of Wall Street experience in fixed income capital markets, interest rate sales, and global macro strategy.
Prior to leaving his institutional finance career, he was the lead author and manager of a signature daily markets commentary at one of the world’s preeminent investment banks.
In addition to following markets-related and geopolitical developments, Mr. von der Schmidt has since dedicated considerable research capacity to better understanding software, privacy, and information systems generally. He is an Associate of ISC(2) and has passed the CISSP and CCSP examinations.
He lives in California.
